Which countries belong to the Middle East is unclear. It is generally agreed upon that the countries have to be located in southwest Asia and northern Africa. The Middle East is the link between ‘the West’ and ‘the East’. Judaism, christianity, and the islam all have their roots in the Middle East. A large part of the world’s oil also comes from this region. This means the political tensions are always high.
